GO TEAM
GRASSROOTS OUTREACH TEAM
New Mexico agriculture needs your voice! The New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau GO Team is a team of ambassadors who advocate for food producers in legislative discussions, interviews with the press and through social media platforms. They tell the story of New Mexico’s farm, ranch and dairy families using their personal experiences to relate to consumers. The NMF&LB Grassroots Outreach Team is comprised of the best advocates for NMF&LB who want to be more involved in policy development and media engagement. The goal for the GO Team is simple: be the best group of grassroots and media advocates for agriculture.
GO Team members advocate by attending targeted issue fly-ins with national lawmakers and drive-ins to the Roundhouse on topics such as on tax reform, agricultural use of water and wildlife concerns. They answer media calls on a variety of issues, engage with consumers, host lawmakers on the farm/ranch/dairy, and participate in meetings, all in support of NMF&LB positions.
A critical factor influencing legislators are stories about the real-world ramifications of legislative action – or inaction. These stories, told in local media, can have an important influence on a congressional member’s willingness to move forward – or stop – critical legislation. These are best told by our GO Team members.
