“The Grant County Farm and Livestock Bureau funded and constructed most of a 250-square-foot greenhouse at San Lorenzo Elementary School in the Mimbres Valley on Saturday — with hopes of eventually building a similar one at every elementary school in the county. “We feel like we can reach more people by providing these greenhouses in more urban settings,” said Stuart Rooks, president of the county farm bureau. “Anything out in the rural areas we are certainly going to support, but we are looking at these schools and getting these kids interested in agriculture at a younger age.” (Photo by Makayla Grijalva)
